Daniel Robbins, Director, 84 minutes, USA, English, 2024, Comedy
This 'cringy' black comedy follows a Jewish familiy's Shabbat dinner that gets it all wrong! David, the oldest son and his newly converted fiancee are joined by the quirky family including Mom (Kyra Sedgwick) and Dad (David Paymer) as they try to introduce their future daughter-in-law's parents to the joy of Shabbat dinner.
When a dead body shows up on the premises it's a major effort for David to present his family as a normal Jewish family. It takes the help of the building's doorman played by Method Man.
Steeped in Jewish ritual, some real - some made-up, this screwball comedy blends slapstick and satire to celebrate family relations.
